Signing in, passwords and Google
Sign in with your email and password, with Google, or with both. Manage your sign-in methods under Settings → Account → Sign-in & security. Sensitive changes require a confirmation code sent to your account email.
Changing or setting your password
- Go to Settings → Account.
- Next to Password, choose Change (or Set password if you signed up with Google and don't have one yet).
- Confirm it's you with the code we email you (see below).
- Enter your current password if asked, then your new one twice, and save.
Passwords need at least 10 characters, with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a number. CoreHue also turns down passwords that have appeared in known data breaches. A short phrase of three or four unrelated words, with a capital and a number worked in, is easy to type and hard to guess.
Signing in with Google
To add Google to an account you created with email, go to the sign-in page, choose Google and use the same email address. CoreHue asks you to confirm it's you before linking them. After that, either way works.
Google then shows as Connected under Sign-in methods.
Disconnecting Google
Choose Disconnect next to Google and confirm with a code. If you don't have a password yet, CoreHue shows Set a password first, because you'd otherwise have no way to sign in. Choose Set password, then disconnect.
"Confirm it's you" codes
Before a sensitive change, CoreHue shows Confirm it's you and emails a 6-digit code to your account address. Choose Send code, then enter the code and choose Verify. Codes last 10 minutes, and you can ask for a new one after 60 seconds.
You'll be asked when you:
- Change your account email
- Change or set your password
- Disconnect Google
- Sign out another device, or sign out of all devices
It's a deliberate speed bump. Even if someone got into your account, they couldn't change how you sign in without your inbox too.
If you forget your password
- On the sign-in page, choose Forgot password?
- Enter your email and choose Send code.
- Type the 6-digit code from your email and choose Verify code.
- Enter a new password twice and choose Reset password, then sign in.
If you signed up with Google and never set a password, there's nothing to reset. Just sign in with Google.
Staying signed in
Keep me signed in on the sign-in page keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. Untick it on a shared computer.
The first time you sign in on a new computer or phone, CoreHue may show Confirm this sign-in and email you a code. Once confirmed, that device is remembered. You'll also get an email about the new sign-in. If one arrives that wasn't you, change your password straight away and sign out of your other devices.
Product analytics
Under Your data on the same tab, the Product analytics switch decides whether CoreHue collects limited usage data, such as pages visited and tasks completed, to improve the product. Client details, document content, money figures and screen recordings are never collected. If your browser sends a privacy signal, analytics stays off for that session.
Frequently asked questions
I signed up with Google. Do I need a password?
No. A CoreHue account created with Google doesn't need a password, but setting one under Settings → Account gives you a second way in, and you'll need it if you ever want to disconnect Google.
Why didn't my security code arrive?
Check your spam or promotions folder, and make sure you're looking at the inbox for your CoreHue account email. After 60 seconds you can choose Resend code.
How do I change the email I sign in with?
Go to Settings → Account and choose Change next to Email. See Changing your account email.
How do I delete my account?
There's no delete button in Settings. Email [email protected] from your account email and our team handles it. See Deleting your CoreHue account.
