# Changing your CoreHue URL

> Your CoreHue URL (yourname.corehue.co) is the base of every gallery, booking and invoice link. How to change it, the naming rules, and what breaks.

Source: https://help.corehue.co/docs/account/your-corehue-url/

Your CoreHue URL is the web address every public link is built on: yourname.corehue.co. Your galleries, booking page, invoices, contracts and contact forms all start with it, so pick something that reads well, like your studio name. You chose it during setup, and it's best left alone once clients have links.

## Changing your URL

1. Go to **Settings → Profile**.
2. Edit **Your CoreHue URL**. The **.corehue.co** part stays fixed.
3. Wait for CoreHue to show **Available** (or **Already taken**, in which case try another).
4. Save.

### The rules

- 3 to 30 characters
- Lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens only
- Can't start or end with a hyphen
- Some names are reserved

> **Changing it breaks links you've shared**
CoreHue warns you: "Changing your URL will break any existing links you've shared." Gallery links clients have bookmarked, invoices in their inboxes and the booking link in your Instagram bio all stop working. If you do need to change it, pick a quiet time when nothing is live, and be ready to resend links.

## Where you'll see it

Your URL also appears at the top of **Settings → Domains**, with a copy button. If you connect a custom domain, it's labeled as your backup: "Backup URL. Always works if your custom domain has issues."

For every kind of public link and what it looks like, see [Your public links and web address](/docs/getting-started/your-public-links).

## Want your own domain instead?

On Plus and Pro you can show your pages on a domain you own, like photos.yourstudio.com, without changing your CoreHue URL at all. Your CoreHue address keeps working alongside it. See [Connecting a custom domain](/docs/account/connecting-a-custom-domain).

## Frequently asked questions

### Will my old links redirect to the new URL?

No. Old links don't redirect. CoreHue warns that changing your CoreHue URL breaks links you've already shared, so plan to send clients the new ones.

### Why does it say Already taken?

**Already taken** means another CoreHue account is using that name. Try a variation, such as adding "photo" or your city.

### Can I use capital letters or spaces?

No. A CoreHue URL uses lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens only, 3 to 30 characters, for example jane-doe-photo.
