Your client is having trouble signing

If your client can't sign a contract, ask what message they see and check the cases below. The contract's status, expiry date or required fields may be preventing them from signing.

"This contract is not available"

The link doesn't point to a live contract any more. This usually happens when you changed the contact or recipient email on a sent contract, which creates a new link, or the client is using an old link from an earlier email.

Fix: open the contract and choose Resend contract, or Share to copy the current link and send it directly.

If the page says "We couldn't load this contract", it's a temporary problem loading the page. Ask your client to refresh and try again.

"Accept the proposal to sign this"

The contract belongs to a proposal, and your client hasn't accepted it yet. The contract shows a Pending badge and has no agreement to read, because the final terms depend on the choices they make in the proposal.

Fix: your client chooses Return to proposal, confirms their choices and accepts. The agreement is then ready to review and sign.

"This contract has expired"

The Expiry Date passed before your client signed. If they'd already signed and the contract lapsed before you counter-signed, the page says so.

Fix: open the contract and choose Reissue contract to send a fresh version. Consider a later expiry date, or none.

"This contract was withdrawn"

You voided this contract, so it can't be signed. Your client sees a Withdrawn badge.

Fix: if it was a mistake, or they still need to sign, choose Reissue contract.

"This contract was declined"

Your client, or someone with their link, chose Decline. Check the Declined by contact banner on your side for their reason.

Fix: talk it through first. When you're both happy, choose Reissue unchanged to send it again, or duplicate and edit it if the terms are changing.

The Sign and agree button doesn't go through

CoreHue won't sign until everything needed is there, and it scrolls to whatever is missing. Ask your client to look for one of these messages:

  • "Needed before you can sign" under a blank in Fill in the blanks. A required blank is empty.
  • "Add your signature to sign" in the Sign section. They haven't drawn or typed a signature yet.
  • "You need to agree before signing" under the consent box. The box isn't ticked.

If drawing a signature is fiddly on their device, they can switch to Type and type their name instead. It counts the same.

There's no sign section at all

If the badge reads Signed or Completed, your client has already signed. Signed means it's waiting on your counter-signature. Once you add it, they'll see Completed and a Download PDF button.

Your client never got the email

  1. Open the contract and choose Email history to see whether it was delivered.
  2. Ask your client to check spam, promotions and other inbox tabs.
  3. Choose Share, copy the link and send it by text or WhatsApp.

My client didn't get my email and Emails landing in spam have more fixes.

You can't send the contract at all

  • "Contact needs an email address to send the contract". Add an email to the contact, or share the link instead. See Editing a contact's details.
  • Cannot send contract, with a list of variables. Something the contract needs is missing, like a linked booking or your business phone. See Variables and blanks.
  • Contract limit reached. You've used the 5 contracts included in the Free plan. Upgrade to send more, or put the contract inside a proposal or on a booking service, which don't count. See What's included on the Free plan.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sign on my client's behalf?

No. Only your client can add their signature to a CoreHue contract, from their own link. That's what makes the signature record meaningful. If they're struggling with one device, they can open the same link on another, such as a laptop instead of a phone.

My client signed the wrong contract. What now?

A signed contract can't be unsigned in CoreHue. Void it if it hasn't been completed, then send the correct one. If it's already completed, write a new contract that replaces it and have them sign that.

Does my client need to download anything to sign?

No. Signing a CoreHue contract works in any up-to-date browser on a phone, tablet or computer, with no app and no account.

Can I send my client a guide to signing?

Yes. Signing your contract is written for clients and walks through every step.
