Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions photographers ask most about CoreHue, from plans and storage to galleries, booking, invoices and payments. Each answer links to the full article when there's more to say.

About CoreHue

What is CoreHue?

CoreHue is all-in-one business software for photographers. You deliver photos and videos in branded client galleries, take inquiries and bookings online, send proposals, contracts and questionnaires, invoice and get paid, and keep every client conversation together. See What CoreHue does.

Who is CoreHue for?

CoreHue is for working photographers, from weddings, portraits and families to events, brands and commercial work. It suits a solo photographer, or a small studio where one person runs the business side. Everything from the gallery tools to the contract templates is built around how photographers work.

What doesn't CoreHue do?

CoreHue has no print store or lab integration, no watermarks, no portfolio website builder, no phone app in the app stores, no team logins and no contact import, and clients can't reschedule bookings themselves. See What CoreHue doesn't do (yet) for the workarounds.

Can I use CoreHue on my phone?

Yes. CoreHue works in any modern mobile browser, so there's nothing to install, and there's no separate app in the app stores. A few things, like dragging photos to reorder them, are easier on a computer. See Using CoreHue on your phone.

Does CoreHue have a website builder?

No, CoreHue doesn't build portfolio websites. You get branded client-facing pages for your galleries, booking page, contact forms, invoices, proposals, contracts and questionnaires, and they can all run on your own domain on Plus and Pro. Link them from the website you already have. See Your public links.

Is CoreHue available in other languages?

Not yet. The CoreHue app, your client pages and this help center are in English only for now.

Can my assistant or second shooter have their own login?

Not at the moment. Each CoreHue account has one login, so assistants and second shooters can't have their own access. See What CoreHue doesn't do (yet).

Plans and billing

How much does CoreHue cost?

CoreHue has three plans: Free, Plus and Pro. Free costs nothing, and Plus and Pro are monthly or annual subscriptions. Every new account starts with 14 days of Plus for free, with no card needed. Prices and a side-by-side comparison are on CoreHue plans and pricing.

What's included in each CoreHue plan?

Free includes 3.5 GB of photo storage, one published booking service, unlimited invoices with online payments, contact forms, and five contracts and five questionnaires. Plus adds 150 GB of storage, one hour of HD gallery video, five published services, unlimited contracts and questionnaires, proposals, automatic reminders, client messaging, full-resolution downloads, a custom domain and the option to remove CoreHue branding. Pro adds 1 TB of storage, four hours of video up to 4K, unlimited published services, RAW uploads, invoicing in more than one currency and priority email support. See Choosing between Free, Plus and Pro.

Is the Free plan really free?

Yes. The CoreHue Free plan has no time limit. It includes 3.5 GB of gallery storage, one published booking service, unlimited invoices with online payments, contact forms, and five contracts and five questionnaires. See What's included on the Free plan.

What happens when my trial ends?

When your 14-day Plus trial ends, the plan you've chosen starts. If you haven't chosen one, your account moves to Free. Nothing is locked and your work stays in your account, though Free limits apply from then on. See How your free trial works.

What happens if I cancel or a payment fails?

If you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, then your account moves to Free. If a renewal payment fails, you get seven days to update your card before your account moves to Free. See Cancelling your subscription and When a subscription payment fails.

What's the difference between Plus and Pro?

Pro is Plus with more room and a few professional extras: 1 TB of storage instead of 150 GB, four hours of video up to 4K instead of one hour up to HD, unlimited published services, RAW uploads, invoicing in more than one currency, and priority support. See Choosing between Free, Plus and Pro.

Why am I seeing an upgrade message?

An upgrade message means you've reached something your current plan doesn't include, such as sending a sixth contract on Free or publishing a sixth service on Plus. The message says what it's about and which plan unlocks it. See I'm seeing an upgrade prompt.

Storage

How much can I upload?

There's no limit per gallery. Photos and uploaded covers count toward your plan's storage: 3.5 GB on Free, 150 GB on Plus and 1 TB on Pro. Video is measured in hours instead, separately. See How storage works for photos and videos.

What happens if I go over my storage limit?

If you go over your storage limit, uploads pause and your oldest galleries are hidden from clients until you're back under the limit. If you're still over after 30 days, the files in those galleries are deleted. You'll get emails well before that. See When you're over your storage limit.

Galleries

What file types can I upload?

CoreHue galleries take JPEG and PNG photos up to 100 MB each. Pro can also upload RAW files from most major cameras once RAW uploads are switched on, and Plus and Pro can add videos. See Supported photo and video file types.

Can I upload HEIC photos from my iPhone?

Not directly. CoreHue doesn't accept HEIC, so export or convert iPhone photos to JPEG first. Your iPhone can also be set to shoot JPEG, which saves the step. See Supported photo and video file types.

Yes, on Plus and Pro. Gallery videos sit right alongside your photos, stream smoothly for your client and can be downloaded if you allow it. See Delivering video in your galleries.

Yes. You can add a gallery password for everyone, ask visitors for their email, and give your client a private password of their own that unlocks extra chapters. See Who can see your gallery.

Why is my client being asked for a PIN to download?

Every new CoreHue gallery comes with a four-digit download PIN switched on, so only people you give it to can download. You can change it or turn it off under the gallery's Settings → Downloads. See Using a download PIN.

How do clients pick their favorites?

Clients tap the star on a photo to add it to a collection, add notes if you allow them, and send their picks to you. See How client favorites work.

Can I add a watermark or sell prints?

No. CoreHue doesn't add watermarks or sell prints. Add watermarks when you export from your editing software, or limit clients to smaller download sizes. For prints, invoice your client and order through your own lab. See Protecting your photos online.

Booking

How do clients book with me?

You create services and share your booking page. Each CoreHue service works in one of three ways: clients send an inquiry, book a time straight away, or grab a mini session slot. See Inquiry, direct booking or mini session?.

Does CoreHue sync with my calendar?

Yes, with Google Calendar. Connect it and confirmed bookings are added to it, and you can stop clients from booking times you're already busy. Outlook and iCloud calendars aren't supported. See Connecting Google Calendar.

Can clients reschedule or cancel by themselves?

No. Clients can't reschedule or cancel a CoreHue booking themselves. Their booking page shows the details and how to reach you, and you make changes from the booking. See Rescheduling a booking.

How many services can I publish?

You can publish one service on Free, five on Plus and as many as you like on Pro. Drafts don't count. See How many services can I publish?.

Contacts and messages

Can I import my contacts from a spreadsheet?

Not yet. CoreHue has no contact import. Contacts are created for you whenever someone inquires, books or fills in a contact form, and you can add anyone else by hand. See Bringing past clients and galleries over.

Do client replies come back into CoreHue?

Yes, on Plus and Pro. When a client replies to an email you sent from CoreHue, the reply lands back in the conversation, and replies you send from your own email app are captured too. See Replying from your own email app.

Can I message clients on the Free plan?

On Free you can read your existing conversations, but sending and replying need Plus or Pro. Invoices, contracts and other documents still email out as normal. See Messages on the Free plan.

Invoices and payments

How do clients pay me?

Clients pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay through Stripe, or by a method you set up yourself, like a bank transfer, where the client can upload proof for you to confirm. See How getting paid works.

Does CoreHue take a cut of my payments?

No. CoreHue doesn't charge a platform fee on your client payments. You only pay Stripe's own processing fees on card payments. See Payment details and fees.

Can a client pay in installments?

Yes. Split any CoreHue invoice into a payment schedule of up to 12 payments, like a deposit followed by the balance. See Splitting an invoice into a payment schedule.

Can I invoice in a different currency?

On Pro, yes. Your default currency is set once and doesn't change, and on Free and Plus every invoice uses it. Pro can raise invoices in other currencies too. See Invoicing in more than one currency.

Proposals, contracts and questionnaires

What's a proposal?

A CoreHue proposal is a single link that brings your pricing, any options for the client to choose, an optional contract and the payment plan together. The client reviews it, accepts, signs and pays in one go. See How proposals work.

Are e-signatures legally binding?

In most countries, yes, e-signatures are legally binding. CoreHue records who signed, when, and exactly what they agreed to. See Is an e-signed contract legally binding?.

How many contracts can I send on Free?

The Free plan includes five contracts and five questionnaires in total. Contracts that go out as part of a booking or proposal don't count toward that. See How contracts work.

Your account

Can I change my CoreHue web address?

Yes, you can change your CoreHue URL from Settings → Profile. Links you've already shared stop working once you change it, so it's best to pick one and keep it. See Changing your CoreHue URL.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, on Plus and Pro. Connect your own domain under Settings → Domains and your galleries, booking page and documents open on it. See Connecting a custom domain.

How do I delete my account?

To delete your CoreHue account, email [email protected] from the address you use for CoreHue and we'll take care of it. If you just want to stop paying, cancelling moves you to the Free plan, which keeps your account open within Free's limits. See Deleting your CoreHue account.
