> How to book a photography session on your photographer's booking page: picking a time, the 30-minute hold, signing, paying a deposit, and your booking page.

Open your photographer's booking page, choose a session and follow the steps shown. You may need to answer questions, sign a contract or pay before the booking is confirmed.

Some photographers take inquiries instead of instant bookings. If you see **Send inquiry** rather than a calendar, skip to [Sending an inquiry](#sending-an-inquiry).

## Choose a session and time

1. Open your photographer's booking page and choose a session. That takes you straight into booking it.
2. Pick a date and time. Some sessions show a calendar; mini sessions show a row of dates with times underneath. In a mini session, dates and times marked **Full** are taken, and some times show how many places are left.
3. If there's a **Duration** option, pick how long you'd like. Longer sessions only show times where the whole block is free.
4. If the session has **Add-ons**, choose any extras and how many. The total updates as you go.

Times are shown in your photographer's time zone, which appears in brackets next to the date. That's usually what you want if you're traveling to them, but double-check if you're booking an online session from another country.

## Your time is held for 30 minutes

When you continue, a message explains that your time will be reserved for 30 minutes while you finish the remaining steps. Tap **Continue** and a **Slot held** timer appears in the corner.

If the timer runs out, you'll see **Your hold has expired** and need to pick a time again. Nothing else is lost. If you change your mind about the time, just pick another one and the first is released.

## Fill in the steps

A progress bar at the top shows where you are. You'll be asked for your details, and then, depending on your photographer:

- **A few questions** about your session. See [Filling out a questionnaire](/docs/for-clients/filling-out-a-questionnaire).
- **A contract to sign.** You draw or type your signature and tick a box to agree. See [Signing your contract](/docs/for-clients/signing-a-contract).
- **A review screen** showing your session, extras and anything due.

## Paying when you book

If your photographer takes payment when you book, the button on the review screen shows the amount, as **Pay deposit** or **Full payment**. If there's a deposit, there may be an option to pay the whole amount now instead.

Tap it and choose how to pay:

- **Card or digital wallet** ("Via Stripe · Apple Pay and Google Pay where available") takes you to a secure checkout.
- **Bank transfer or another method** shows your photographer's instructions. Make the payment, attach proof if asked (an image or PDF under 5MB) and tap **I've made this payment**. Your photographer confirms it once the money arrives.

If your photographer doesn't take payment up front, the last button reads **Confirm booking** instead.

## Your booking page

When you're done, you land on your booking page. Bookmark it. It has everything in one place:

- Whether your booking is confirmed or waiting on something
- The session name, description, date, time and location
- Once your booking is confirmed, the online meeting link (for online sessions), plus **Add to Google Calendar** or **Download .ics** for other calendars
- Your contract and questionnaire, with a button for anything still to do
- **Payments**, with any balance due and a way to pay it
- Your photographer's cancellation policy

If something's still needed, the page reads **Complete your booking** and tells you what's left and by when. While your photographer checks a bank transfer, it shows **Awaiting confirmation**. Once everything's done, you'll see **Your booking is confirmed**.

If the deadline passes before everything's finished, the page reads **This booking has expired** and the time is released. Contact your photographer, especially if you've already paid.

## Sending an inquiry

Some sessions start with a conversation. Fill in the short form and tap **Send inquiry**. You'll see a confirmation page and get an email to confirm it arrived. Your photographer will reply personally to talk through dates and details.

Nothing is reserved when you inquire, so if a particular date matters, mention it in your message.

## Changing or cancelling

You can't change or cancel a booking yourself online. Get in touch with your photographer directly, and read the cancellation policy on your booking page first so you know where you stand.

## Frequently asked questions

### Do I need an account to book?

Your photographer confirms bank transfers by hand once the money arrives. Your booking page shows **Awaiting confirmation** in the meantime. Please don't pay twice.

### Where's the link for my online session?
