Downloading your photos
You can save a single photo or the whole gallery. They work a little differently, so here's each one step by step. If you're saving to a phone, Saving photos to your phone has extra tips for iPhone and Android.
If you don't see any download buttons, your photographer hasn't turned downloads on for this gallery yet. Ask them when your photos will be ready to save.
Download one photo
- Open the photo you want. On a computer you can also use the download icon that appears when you hover over a photo.
- Tap the download icon.
- The first time, a Download photo box may ask for your email, and the download PIN if your photographer uses one. Enter them and tap Continue.
- If you're offered more than one size, pick one and tap Continue. Tick Remember my selection so you're not asked every time.
Download the whole gallery
- Tap Download gallery in the row of buttons at the top of the gallery. It opens a download page in a new tab. If nothing seems to happen, check whether your browser blocked the new tab.
- Enter your email, and the download PIN if you're asked for one. Tap Continue.
- Tick the chapters you want (they're named like the ones at the top of your gallery, such as Ceremony or Portraits), or tick Select all.
- Choose a size, if there's a choice.
- Tap the download button (it shows how many photos you picked) and wait while your photos are prepared. A big gallery can take a little while, so keep the page open.
- When you see Your photos are ready, save the file, or each file in the list.
Your photos arrive as a ZIP file. On a computer, double-click it to open the folder of photos. On a phone, see Saving photos to your phone.
Big galleries come in parts
A large gallery is split into several files, listed one under another. Each part has to be downloaded separately, so work down the list and tap every one. If everything fits in one file, you get a single Download your photos button instead.
Missing a part is the most common reason people end up with only some of their photos. If photos seem to be missing, go back to the download page and check you've saved every part.
Which size should I choose?
Your photographer decides which sizes to offer, so you may only see one or two of these.
| Size | Best for |
|---|---|
| Original | Printing, framing, albums, and keeping a full-quality copy |
| Web Size (2048px) | Viewing on screens, sharing, and small prints |
| Standard (1024px) | Everyday sharing |
| Small (640px) | Quick previews and messages |
If you're not sure and Original is offered, take it. You can always make a smaller copy from a big file, but never the other way round. On a slow connection, a smaller size is much quicker.
The download PIN
Some photographers add a 4-digit PIN for downloads. It's usually in the same message as your gallery link. Once you've entered it, you won't be asked again on that device for a day.
If you don't have it, ask your photographer. There's no way to reset it yourself. If you see "Too many attempts", wait about 15 minutes before trying again.
If the download link has expired
A prepared download stays available for 48 hours. After that, the page offers Request again. Tap it to prepare a fresh copy. That's normal, and you don't need to ask your photographer.
If you prepared a download recently and come back to the page, you'll be offered Download existing files (the one you already made) or Choose new photos (start again with different sections or a different size).
Keep your own copy
Galleries don't stay online forever. Your photographer may have set a date when the gallery comes down, so download everything you want to keep and save a backup somewhere safe, like a computer and a cloud drive.
Frequently asked questions
Why can't I right-click to save a photo?
Right-click saving is switched off to protect your photographer's work. Use the download icon instead.
Why is there no Original size?
Your photographer chooses which sizes to offer. If you need full-resolution files for printing, ask them.
Do videos come with the whole-gallery download?
No. Videos download one at a time from the video itself. See Downloading videos from your gallery.
Will I get an email when my download is ready?
Keep the download page open while your photos are prepared. Your files appear right there on the page when they're ready.
Can I order prints through the gallery?
Not through the gallery itself. Ask your photographer about prints.
