Reviewing and accepting a proposal

A proposal is your photographer's quote: what they'll do for you, what's included, and what it costs. You can try different options, see the total change, and accept when you're happy, all from the link they sent.

Read through it

Open the link. At the top you'll see who it's from, who it's for, the date and, if there is one, an Expiry date. Below that are the Service date and location, then the details of what's included.

If there's an expiry date, accept before it passes. After that, you'll need to ask your photographer for a new proposal.

Make your choices

  • Items are included whatever you choose.
  • A group that says "Pick one of these options" asks you to choose one, like a package size.
  • Add-ons say "Pick any of these options". Choose as many as you like, and some let you pick a quantity.

The total updates as you go, so you can try combinations before you commit. If there's a Payment schedule, it shows each payment with its due date, usually as a percentage. The exact amounts are worked out from your final choices when you accept.

Accept the proposal

  1. Tap Accept proposal.
  2. Check the summary: the total, each payment and its date, what happens after accepting, and the Agreement if there is one. You can open it and read it in full.
  3. Tap Accept proposal again to confirm.

Your choices lock in when you confirm. If you change your mind afterwards, ask your photographer to update the proposal.

Finish the next steps

After you accept, the page shows a short list of Next steps. Depending on your photographer, you'll see:

  1. Sign the agreement. See Signing your contract.
  2. Questionnaire. A few questions about your session. See Filling out a questionnaire.
  3. Pay the deposit (or Pay), with the amount shown.

The steps open one at a time. Finish one and the next becomes available. You don't have to do them all at once: come back to the same link and carry on where you left off.

For payment, you can pay by Card or digital wallet (with Apple Pay and Google Pay where available), or by bank transfer or another method your photographer offers. For a transfer, tap I've made this payment once you've paid, and attach proof if asked. Your photographer confirms it when the money arrives. See Paying your invoice for more detail.

When everything's done, you'll see Booking confirmed, and your booking page has all the details from then on. Bookmark it.

Declining

If the proposal isn't right, tap Decline. You can add a reason in the Optional reason box, then tap Decline proposal. A quick note like "the date has changed" or "it's a bit over our budget" helps your photographer, and often leads to a revised proposal.

The proposal has passed its date, or your photographer has replaced it. Ask them for a fresh one. If you'd already paid something, mention it so they can sort it out.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change my choices after accepting?

Not yourself. Your choices lock when you accept. Ask your photographer and they can update the proposal for you.

Do I have to pay straight away?

Only if your photographer asks for a payment to confirm the booking. The next steps list shows what's needed and the payment schedule shows when.

What happens if I close the page halfway through?

Your accepted choices are saved. Open the same link again and your next steps are waiting.

Is paying by card safe?

Yes. Card payments go through Stripe's secure checkout, and your photographer never sees your card number.
