Three small settings in **Settings → Experience** shape how your client enjoys their gallery: a full-screen slideshow, buttons for sharing with friends and family, and a short guide on their first visit. All three are on for new galleries.

## Change the client experience settings

1. Open the gallery and go to **Settings → Experience**.
2. Turn **Slideshow**, **Social sharing** or **Gallery Guide** on or off.
3. Choose **Save** in the bar at the bottom of the screen.

## Slideshow

With **Slideshow** on, your client gets a **Start slideshow** button in the gallery's action bar, and can also start it from any open photo. The photos in the chapter they're viewing play full screen, moving on every few seconds, with play, pause, previous and next controls. The arrow keys work on a computer.

The slideshow plays photos only. Videos stay in the chapter's video strip.

Clients love it when they're showing the gallery to family on a TV or laptop. Turn it off if a gallery is meant for selecting rather than viewing, such as a proofing gallery.

## Social sharing

With **Social sharing** on, share buttons appear across the gallery. Your client can share the whole gallery, a single photo, a collection of favorites or a video, to X, Facebook, Pinterest, WhatsApp or email, or copy the link.

Sharing is how a gallery reaches the guests, grandparents and colleagues who might book you next, so it's worth leaving on unless the work is private.

Turning it off removes the buttons. It doesn't stop anyone copying the address from their browser, so if a gallery needs to stay private, add a password too. See [Who can see your gallery](/docs/gallery-sharing/who-can-see-your-gallery).

## Gallery Guide

With **Gallery Guide** on, the first time someone opens the gallery in a browser, a few short cards explain the tools you've left on:

- **Save photos to collections**, if favorites are on
- **Share with others**, if social sharing is on
- **Save your photos**, if downloads are on

If all three are off, they see a single **Explore your gallery** card instead. They can step through with **Next** and **Back**, and finish with **Go to gallery**.

The guide shows once per gallery in each browser and can't be reopened afterwards. It saves you answering "how do I download?" more than once. Turn it off if your clients already know their way around, or for a very simple gallery.

## What your client sees

| Setting | When it's on | When it's off |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Slideshow** | A **Start slideshow** button, and a slideshow option on open photos | No slideshow |
| **Social sharing** | Share buttons for the gallery, photos, collections and videos | No share buttons |
| **Gallery Guide** | A short guide on their first visit | The gallery opens straight away |

## Frequently asked questions

### Does the slideshow include videos?

No. The gallery slideshow plays only the photos in the chapter your client is viewing. Videos play from the strip at the top of the chapter.

### If I turn off social sharing, can people still share the link?

Yes. Turning off **Social sharing** only removes the share buttons, and anyone can still copy the gallery address from their browser. Use a password if you need the gallery kept private.

### Can my client see the Gallery Guide again?

Not in the same browser. The Gallery Guide appears once per gallery per browser. Opening the gallery on another device or in a private window shows it again.

### Are these settings on for new galleries?

Yes. **Slideshow**, **Social sharing** and **Gallery Guide** are all on when you create a new gallery.
