Use the **Layout** tab to change your gallery's **Cover layout**, **Typography**, **Colors** and **Grid**. These controls work together, so you can adjust each part of the design.

## The Layout tab

Open a gallery and choose **Layout**. Down the side you'll find the **Cover Image** card and the four design controls. On a wide screen, a live preview of the real gallery sits beside them, with **Desktop preview** and **Mobile preview** buttons underneath.

Changes save on their own a moment after you make them. You'll see "Design saved", and the preview reloads to match.

On a phone or small tablet the controls fill the screen and the live preview is hidden. Use **Preview** in the header to check your changes. See [Previewing your gallery](/docs/galleries/previewing-your-gallery).

## The cover image card

The card at the top is your cover. Click the pencil to change it, or the focal point button to choose which part of the photo stays in view. See [Choosing a gallery cover](/docs/galleries/choosing-a-gallery-cover).

## Cover layout options

How the opening screen presents your cover. There are 14 layouts, from full-screen photos with the title laid over them to framed prints, arches and circles on a plain background. New galleries start on **Frame**.

Each layout is described in [Gallery cover layouts](/docs/galleries/gallery-cover-layouts). Try a few with your actual cover photo, and check the mobile preview too.

## Typography sets

Fourteen type sets, each pairing a heading font with a body font. Every tile shows its name in its own heading font, so you're looking at the type itself.

| Set | Feel |
| --- | --- |
| **Vogue** | High fashion |
| **Serif** | Classic and literary |
| **Bodoni Moda** | Sculpted and poised |
| **Pinyon Script** | Romantic calligraphy |
| **Refined** | Quiet luxury (the default) |
| **Timeless** | Light and airy |
| **Editorial** | Magazine italic |
| **Josefin Slab** | Airy geometric serifs |
| **Modern** | Sophisticated and spaced |
| **Syncopate** | Wide architectural letters |
| **Warm** | Soft and organic |
| **Sans** | Clean and quiet |
| **Statement** | Bold and modern |
| **Instrument Serif** | Expressive and intimate |

The typography shows on the cover title, the chapter names and throughout the gallery.

## Color sets

Nine color sets. Each one sets the page background, the text and the accent color for buttons.

| Color set | Look |
| --- | --- |
| **Porcelain** | Clean white (the default) |
| **Champagne** | Warm cream with golden-brown accents |
| **Blush** | Pale pink with dusty rose accents |
| **Sienna** | Warm peach cream with terracotta accents |
| **Dune** | Sandy beige |
| **Sage** | Soft olive green |
| **Eucalyptus** | Pale green with deep green accents |
| **Harbor** | Cool blue-grey with slate accents |
| **Onyx** | Near black, with light text |

A quiet background keeps the attention on the photos. **Onyx** makes rich, colorful work glow, but it can overpower soft, airy images.

## Photo grid size and spacing

How the photos are laid out inside each chapter. Photos keep their own shape, portrait or landscape.

- **Image size**: **Regular** fits more photos across the screen. **Large** shows fewer, bigger photos per row.
- **Spacing**: **Tight** keeps photos close together. **Relaxed** gives each one more room.

New galleries start on **Regular** and **Tight**, which suits a big delivery your client is scanning. **Large** with **Relaxed** suits a small, curated set.

## Building a house style

Start from the defaults, which are deliberately quiet, and change one thing at a time. What works for most studios is to choose one typography set and one color set and use them on every gallery, then pick the cover layout that suits each cover photo. Your deliveries look like a set, and you're not redesigning from scratch each time.

## What your client sees

Everything on the **Layout** tab shapes your client's first impression: the cover layout and fonts on the opening screen, then the colors and grid as they browse. Most clients open their gallery on a phone, so give the mobile preview a look before you publish.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I save a design and reuse it on other galleries?

No. CoreHue doesn't have saved design presets. Each gallery keeps its own **Layout** settings, so pick your usual typography and colors when you set up a new one. It takes a few seconds.

### Do design changes affect a gallery I've already sent?

Yes. Design changes on the **Layout** tab save straight away and show up for anyone who opens the gallery afterwards.

### Does my logo appear in the gallery?

No. CoreHue galleries show your business name on the cover, set in the typography you've chosen, rather than a logo image. The name comes from **Settings → Business**. See [Business details and logo](/docs/account/business-details-and-logo).

### Why don't I see the live preview?

The live preview on the **Layout** tab only appears on wider screens. On a phone, use **Preview** in the gallery header to open the real gallery.
