Draft, published and unlisted galleries
Every gallery is in one of three states: Draft, Published or Unlisted. The status decides one thing: whether the gallery's link works for anyone other than you.
The three gallery statuses
| Status | What it means | What your client sees |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | Every new gallery starts here. Only you can see it. | "This page isn't available" |
| Published | Live. The link works, with whatever access settings you've chosen. | The gallery |
| Unlisted | Taken offline. Everything is kept, ready to publish again. | "This page isn't available" |
You'll see the status in the gallery header. On your gallery list, drafts and unlisted galleries carry a Draft or Unlisted badge, and published galleries have no badge.
Publishing a gallery
Choose Publish in the gallery header and confirm. The gallery goes live and CoreHue opens the email composer so you can send it straight away. Publishing makes the link work, but nobody has the link until you share it. See Publishing a gallery.
Taking a gallery offline
Click the status badge in the header and choose Unlist. You can also choose Unlist from the gallery card's menu on your gallery list.
The link stops working straight away. Your photos, videos, chapters, settings and activity all stay exactly as they were. See Unlisting a gallery to take it offline.
On some websites "unlisted" means a page that works for anyone with the link but doesn't appear in search. In CoreHue it means the gallery is offline. To hold back part of a gallery while the rest stays live, hide a chapter instead.
Publishing again
Click the status badge and choose Publish, or use Publish on the gallery card. The same link works again, with all your settings intact.
While a gallery is unlisted, the Share button in the header is greyed out, with the hint "Publish the gallery first to share it."
A gallery never goes back to Draft
Once a gallery has been published, it switches between Published and Unlisted. Unlisted does the same job as a draft: only you can see it.
Expiry dates and status
If you've set an expiry date, the gallery goes offline on that date by itself. Visitors first see a message that the gallery has expired and to contact you, and shortly after, the header shows Unlisted. Publish it again whenever you like.
Restricted galleries
There's one more state you might see, and it isn't one you choose. If your account goes over its storage limit, some galleries become Restricted: hidden from clients, who see the same "This page isn't available" message, until you're back under the limit. See When you're over your storage limit.
Frequently asked questions
Does unlisting a gallery delete anything?
No. Unlisting a gallery keeps its photos, videos, settings, favorites and activity. Publish it again and it's back exactly as it was.
Does an unlisted gallery still use storage?
Yes. An unlisted gallery's photos stay in your account, so they still count toward your storage. To free up space, delete photos or the gallery. See Deleting a gallery.
Can I put a published gallery back to Draft?
No. Once a gallery has been published it can't go back to Draft, but you don't need it to. Unlisted works the same way: only you can see the gallery.
Will my client's link change if I unlist and republish?
No. Unlisting and republishing keeps the gallery's address the same, unless you change it yourself in Settings → Sharing.
