# Supported photo and video file types

> Which photo and video files you can upload to a CoreHue gallery: JPEG and PNG up to 100 MB, RAW on Pro, and MP4, MOV, M4V or AVI video on Plus and Pro.

Source: https://help.corehue.co/docs/galleries/supported-file-types/

CoreHue galleries take the files photographers actually deliver: JPEG and PNG photos on every plan, RAW files on Pro, and video on Plus and Pro. Here's exactly what's accepted, and what to do with the files that aren't.

## Supported file types and size limits

| What | Formats | Largest file | Plans |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Photos | JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg, .jpe, .jfif) and PNG | 100 MB | All plans |
| RAW photos | DNG, NEF, ARW, CR2, CR3, RAF, RAW, PEF, RW2, ORF | 100 MB | Pro, with **RAW image uploads** turned on |
| Videos | MP4, MOV, M4V, AVI | 20 GB | Plus and Pro |

Photos count toward your plan's storage. Videos are measured in hours instead, with their own limits. See [How storage works for photos and videos](/docs/plans-and-billing/how-storage-works) and [Video limits by plan](/docs/gallery-video/video-limits-by-plan).

For RAW details, see [Uploading RAW files](/docs/galleries/uploading-raw-files). For video export settings, see [Video formats and export settings](/docs/gallery-video/video-formats-and-export-settings).

## Files CoreHue doesn't accept

| File | What to do instead |
| --- | --- |
| **HEIC or HEIF** (the iPhone default) | Export as JPEG, or set your iPhone to shoot JPEG in **Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible** |
| **TIFF** | Export a JPEG from your editing software |
| **WebP, AVIF or GIF** | Save or export as JPEG or PNG |
| **3FR, CRW, FFF, IIQ, MOS, MRW, NRW, RWL, SRW, X3F** RAW files | Convert to DNG, or export a JPEG |
| Anything over 100 MB | Export at a lower quality setting or a smaller size |

When a file isn't accepted, CoreHue skips it and tells you how many were skipped and why. You might see "Only JPEG, PNG… can be uploaded." or "Each file must be under 100 MB." The other files keep uploading.

## Converting files

Most editing apps can export to JPEG in a couple of clicks:

- **Lightroom Classic or Lightroom:** export with **JPEG** as the format and **sRGB** as the color space.
- **Capture One:** create an export recipe set to JPEG and sRGB.
- **Preview on a Mac:** open the file, choose **File → Export**, and pick **JPEG**.

A JPEG quality setting between 80 and 100 looks great on screen and keeps files a comfortable size.

## Export in sRGB

Export your gallery photos in the **sRGB** color space. It's what phones, laptops and most apps expect. Photos in Adobe RGB or ProPhoto RGB can look flat or dull on some screens, especially once your client has downloaded them and opened them in another app.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I upload WebP or AVIF photos to a gallery?

No. CoreHue gallery photos need to be JPEG or PNG, so WebP and AVIF files are skipped. Export a JPEG copy from your editing app and upload that.

### Why won't my iPhone photos upload?

iPhones save photos as HEIC by default, and galleries don't accept HEIC. Export them as JPEG, or switch your iPhone to **Most Compatible** so it shoots JPEG from then on.

### Can I upload RAW files?

Yes, on Pro, once you turn on **RAW image uploads** in **Settings → Business**. Ten common RAW formats are supported. See [Uploading RAW files](/docs/galleries/uploading-raw-files).

### Is the cover image limit different?

Yes. A gallery cover you upload from your device can be a PNG or JPEG up to 50 MB. A cover picked from the gallery can be any photo already in it. See [Choosing a gallery cover](/docs/galleries/choosing-a-gallery-cover).
