What your client sees in their gallery

This page follows a client's visit from opening the gallery link to viewing, choosing favorites and downloading. The options they see depend on your gallery settings. Use Preview to check your own gallery.

Your client taps the link in your email or message and lands on the cover: your photo, the gallery name, the event date if you've set one, and your business name, all in the design you chose. A View gallery link or a small arrow invites them to scroll down. See Gallery cover layouts.

When the link is shared in a messaging app or on social media, the preview shows your cover photo and the gallery name.

On the Free plan, a small "Powered by CoreHue" mark appears in the gallery. Plus and Pro can remove it. See Removing CoreHue branding.

The access screen

If you've set up privacy, your client sees a short screen before the gallery. It only asks for what you've turned on:

  • Client access or Guest access, if you've given your client a private password
  • A password, if the gallery has one
  • Their email, if you've turned on email registration

They're asked once, and the gallery remembers them on that device for 7 days. See Who can see your gallery.

Chapters and photos

Past the cover, the chapter names sit in a strip that stays pinned to the top of the screen, with the gallery's action buttons at the end. Each chapter is its own page. Photos keep their own shape in the grid and keep loading as your client scrolls, and a link at the bottom takes them on to the next chapter. A chapter description, if you wrote one, sits above its photos.

Tapping a photo opens it full screen. Your client can swipe or use the arrow keys to move between photos, and the open photo has buttons to add it to their favorites, download it, share it and, if you allow it, hide it.

On a computer, those buttons also appear when the pointer rests on a photo in the grid. On a phone or tablet, your client opens the photo first.

Videos

On Plus and Pro, videos sit in a strip at the top of their chapter, above the photos. Hovering over one plays a short silent preview, and tapping opens a player with sound, fullscreen and download if you allow it. See How your clients watch videos.

Choosing favorites

Your client taps the star on a photo to add it to a collection. The first time, they're asked for their email so their selections can be saved. Your selections shows everything they've picked. There they can keep separate lists, add a note to a single photo or the whole collection, and send it to you. See How client favorites work.

Downloading photos

If downloads are on, the download button opens a page where your client picks chapters and a size and downloads the gallery. Single photos download from the open photo. They're only asked for what's missing: their email if you collect one, and the download PIN if you've set one.

On an iPhone, a single photo opens a Save photo sheet so it goes straight into their Photos app. See What your client sees when they download.

Sharing, slideshow and the guide

With the default settings, your client can share the gallery, a photo, a collection or a video, play a full-screen slideshow, and see a short guide on their first visit. See Slideshow, social sharing and the gallery guide.

Hiding photos

If you've turned on Let clients hide photos, your client can hide a photo from guests, such as an unflattering shot they'd rather family didn't see. It stays visible to them and to you. See Letting clients hide photos.

Most clients open their gallery on a phone, and everything works there. The download button stays in view, and the other actions tuck into a ⋯ menu to save space. Check your cover with the mobile preview on the Layout tab before you send.

What your client can't do

  • Change, reorder or delete anything in the gallery.
  • Right-click to save a photo. That's switched off, so downloads go through the settings you've chosen.
  • Comment on photos outside a collection. Notes live inside their collections, on single photos or the whole list.
  • Order prints. CoreHue doesn't sell prints, so print orders are a conversation with you.

If your client has given an email, a Log out option lets them sign out of the gallery on a shared device.

For help you can send straight to your client, see Help for clients.

Frequently asked questions

Does my client need to download an app?

No. A CoreHue gallery opens in any web browser on a phone, tablet or computer, with nothing to install.

Can my client see my other galleries?

No. Each gallery has its own link, and nothing in a gallery leads your client to your other galleries.

Will my client see photos that failed to process?

No. Photos that failed to process are left out of the client's gallery until you fix them. See When photos fail to process.

Can my client stop someone screenshotting their photos?

No. No website can block screenshots. Passwords, client-only chapters and the hide option help keep private photos private. See Protecting your photos online.
