# Sending favorites as a download

> Email a client's selected photos as a ZIP link to an album designer, printer or retoucher. The link lasts 48 hours and works even for unpublished galleries.

Once your client has picked their album photos, someone else usually needs them: an album designer, a print lab, a retoucher. **Send as download** emails that person a link to just those photos as a ZIP, without giving them the whole gallery.

## Send a collection as a download

1. Open the gallery's **Activity** tab and click **Collections**.
2. Open the collection's **⋯** menu (or click the row and use the menu in **Collection Details**) and choose **Send as download**.
3. Pick a size: **Original**, **Web Size (2048px)**, **Standard (1024px)** or **Small (640px)**, then click **Continue**.
4. In the **Send download** email, type the recipient's email. It can be anyone, not just a contact.
5. Check the message and send.

The email's default subject is "Photos from [gallery name] are ready to download", and the message mentions that the link is live for 48 hours. The button in the email reads **Download photos**.

## How the link works

- It packages that collection, and only that collection, as a ZIP in the size you picked.
- It stays live for **48 hours** from when you send it.
- It works even if the gallery is a draft or unlisted. The link itself is the key, so the recipient doesn't need the gallery password or PIN.
- It goes to one recipient per send. Send it again for a second person.

If the 48 hours run out before your designer gets to it, just send it again.

## What the recipient sees

An email from you, with your message and a **Download photos** button. The button takes them to the ZIP of those photos. They don't need a CoreHue account.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I send a download of the whole gallery this way?

No. **Send as download** works on collections, not whole galleries. To send everything, create a collection with every photo, or share the gallery itself with downloads on. See [How whole-gallery downloads work](/docs/gallery-downloads/whole-gallery-downloads).

### Does the recipient see the rest of the gallery?

No. The recipient of a **Send as download** link only gets the photos in that collection.

### Does it include videos?

No. Collections hold photos only, so a **Send as download** ZIP never includes videos. Send videos to your designer another way.

### Why can't I find Send as download?

**Send as download** appears once a collection has at least one photo. It's also unavailable while the gallery is [restricted](/docs/plans-and-billing/over-your-storage-limit).
