Publishing a gallery

Every new gallery starts as a draft that only you can see. Publishing puts it online so the link works, and CoreHue takes you straight to the email composer so you can send it to your client while you're thinking about it.

  1. Open the gallery and click Publish in the header.
  2. Check the confirmation. It shows your cover and the line "Once published, this gallery will be available online and ready to share with your clients."
  3. Click Publish.
  4. CoreHue opens the Share gallery composer. Send the email now, or use Share with link if you'd rather paste the link somewhere yourself.

On a phone, Publish lives in the ⋯ menu at the top right of the gallery, next to Preview and Email history.

Publishing isn't the same as sending. A published gallery has a working link, but nobody knows about it until you share it. For the email itself, see Sharing a gallery by email.

What changes after you publish

  • The status badge beside the gallery name reads Published.
  • The Publish button becomes Share, which opens the share dialog with the link, any passwords and the download PIN. See Sharing a gallery link.
  • Anyone with the link can open the gallery, unless you've added a password or other protection. See Who can see your gallery.

You can keep working on a published gallery. New photos, chapter changes and design tweaks show up for your client as soon as they're saved, so there's no need to unpublish while you edit.

Check it before you send it

Click Preview first to see the gallery exactly as your client will. See Previewing your gallery.

Publishing again after unlisting

A gallery can't go back to being a draft. Once it's been published, it's either Published or Unlisted.

To bring an unlisted gallery back, open the status badge beside its name and choose Publish. There's no confirmation this time: it goes live straight away and you'll see "Gallery published". If the gallery's expiry date has already passed, publishing clears it so the gallery doesn't immediately go offline again. A date still in the future is left alone.

You can also publish or unlist from the gallery's ⋯ menu on the Galleries list. See Unlisting a gallery to take it offline for what unlisting does.

When publishing is blocked

If you're over your storage limit, some galleries become Restricted. A restricted gallery can't be published or shared. You'll see "This gallery is restricted" with an option to upgrade. Free up space or upgrade and the restriction lifts on its own. See When you're over your storage limit.

Frequently asked questions

Does publishing email my client?

No. Publishing a gallery doesn't email your client. It only makes the link work. CoreHue opens the email composer right after your first publish, but nothing is sent until you click Share gallery there.

Yes. Uploads, new chapters, reordering and design changes all apply to the live gallery as soon as they're saved. If you're making big changes you'd rather your client didn't see halfway through, unlist it while you work.

Why can't I find the Publish button?

The Publish button changes to Share once a gallery is published. On a narrow screen, both live in the ⋯ menu at the top right.

No. Once published, a gallery is either Published or Unlisted. Unlisting takes it offline in the same way a draft is offline.
