Sharing a gallery by email

The quickest way to deliver a gallery is to email it from CoreHue. Your client gets a branded email with your cover photo, your message, a View gallery button and, if you like, the passwords they need, all in one place.

Open the share composer

There are three ways in:

  • Right after your first publish. CoreHue opens the composer for you.
  • From the gallery. Click Share in the header, then Share via email.
  • From the Galleries list. Open the gallery's ⋯ menu, choose Share, then Share via email.

The gallery has to be published first. If it isn't, CoreHue sends you back with "Publish the gallery before sharing it." See Publishing a gallery.

  1. Click into To. Contacts linked to this gallery appear first, under Gallery contacts. Pick one, search your other contacts, or type any email address. You can add up to 20 recipients.
  2. Check the Subject. It starts as your business name followed by "shared a gallery:" and the gallery title. Change it if you like.
  3. Edit the Message. It comes pre-written with a short note that the gallery is ready, signed with your first name.
  4. Under Include in email, tick any codes your client needs (more on these below).
  5. Tick Send a copy to me if you want one in your own inbox.
  6. Click Share gallery.

You'll see "Gallery sent" and land back on the gallery. The preview on the right (or the Preview tab on a phone) shows exactly what your client will get: your business name, the gallery title, your cover, your message, any codes, and the View gallery button.

The To field always starts empty, even when the gallery has linked contacts. That's on purpose: you choose who gets each send, so a gallery linked to a couple and a planner doesn't go to everyone by accident. To get contacts into the Gallery contacts list, link them in the gallery's settings. See Linking a gallery to your contacts.

Include passwords and the PIN

Include in email shows a checkbox for each code the gallery actually uses:

CheckboxShows when
Gallery passwordThe gallery has a password. See Password-protecting a gallery.
Client passwordClient access is on. See Giving your client private access.
Download PINThe download PIN is on. See Using a download PIN.

Each code you tick appears in its own small box inside the email. If none of these are set up, the section doesn't appear at all.

Send the codes with the link

A password in a separate email is one more thing to lose. Ticking the boxes here means your client has everything in one message.

Think about who's on the To line before ticking Client password. It's meant for your client alone, so if you're also sending to family or a planner, send the client password to your client separately.

If you'd rather send the link by text, WhatsApp or your own email, click Share with link at the top of the composer and confirm. You'll go back to the gallery with the share dialog open, ready to copy. See Sharing a gallery link or on social media.

Check it arrived

Every gallery email you send is listed under Email history in the gallery's ⋯ menu, with its delivery status. See Checking which gallery emails you've sent. If your client says they never got it, My client didn't get the gallery email walks through the fixes.

What your client sees

An email from your business name with your cover photo at the top, your message, any codes you included, and a View gallery button that opens the gallery. Each recipient gets their own copy, so nobody sees anyone else's address. When they hit reply, it goes straight to your business email (or your account email if you haven't set one). If you want to help them along, add a link to Opening your gallery in your message. It's written for clients, not photographers.

Frequently asked questions

Why doesn't my client's email fill in automatically?

The To field in the share composer starts empty on purpose, so you decide who gets each send. Click into it and your linked contacts are right at the top under Gallery contacts.

Yes. One gallery email can go to up to 20 recipients at once. Each one can be a contact or any email address you type.

Why don't I see the Client password checkbox?

The Client password checkbox only appears when Client access is turned on in the gallery's Settings → Access. The same goes for Gallery password and Download PIN: no code, no checkbox.

Yes. To resend a gallery, open the share composer again and send it. There's no limit, and each send shows up in Email history.

No. Sharing a gallery doesn't create an account, and your client never signs up for anything. They open the link, enter a password if you've set one, and they're in.
