# Renaming, moving and deleting videos

> Rename gallery videos, change the order clients see them in, move them between chapters or galleries, and delete the ones you don't need.

Use a video's **⋯** menu to rename it, change its thumbnail, move it or delete it. You can also reorder videos alongside photos in a chapter.

> **Available on Plus and Pro**
Gallery video is included on the Plus and Pro plans. See [CoreHue plans](/docs/plans-and-billing/corehue-plans).

## Rename a video

A new video takes its title from the file name, so `FINAL_v3_export.mp4` is what your client would see. Worth changing.

1. On the video card, open **⋯** and choose **Rename**.
2. Type a title, up to 200 characters.
3. Click **Save**.

Your client sees the title under the player when they open the video, so "Highlight film" or "Ceremony, full length" reads much better than a file name. Renaming doesn't change the file name of the download.

## Play a video from your dashboard

Click a ready video's card, or choose **Play** from its **⋯** menu, to watch it in a full-screen player. It's handy for a final check before you share the gallery.

You can't download videos from your dashboard, so keep your own copy of every film you deliver.

## Change the order

Drag a video card to a new spot in the chapter's **Videos** section. Your client sees them in the same order. Only videos that have finished processing can be dragged.

## Move a video to another chapter or gallery

1. On the video card, open **⋯** and choose **Move to chapter**.
2. Pick a chapter in this gallery. To move it to a different gallery, click the back arrow next to the gallery name and choose another gallery first.
3. Click **Move**.

You can also drag a video onto a chapter in the sidebar on the left. Need a new home for it? **New chapter** in the move dialog creates one on the spot.

The **Move to chapter** option appears once the gallery has more than one chapter. A video you move into another gallery follows that gallery's settings from then on, including whether it's published and whether downloads are on.

> **Videos move, they don't copy**
Unlike photos, a video can only be in one place. There's no copy option, so moving a video takes it out of the chapter it was in.

## Delete a video

1. On the video card, open **⋯** and choose **Delete**.
2. Confirm in **Delete this video?**

Deleting is permanent and the video disappears from your client's gallery straight away. Its running time comes off your total video time immediately, so you can upload something else. It still counts toward this month's upload limit, though. See [Video limits by plan](/docs/gallery-video/video-limits-by-plan).

## Work with several videos at once

Tick the checkbox in the corner of a video card, or drag a box around several cards with your mouse. A bar appears at the bottom of the screen with **Move to chapter**, **Delete** and **Clear selection**. With exactly one video selected you also get **Open** and **Edit thumbnail**.

Photos and videos are selected separately. While you have videos selected, the photos fade back so you can't mix the two, and the other way round.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I copy a video to a second gallery?

No. Gallery videos can be moved but not copied. If you need the same film in two galleries, upload it to each one. Each copy uses its running time from your plan.

### Can I hide one video but keep the rest of the chapter visible?

No. There's no per-video visibility switch, so videos show whenever the gallery is published. To keep one back, move it to a chapter you've [hidden from visitors](/docs/gallery-sharing/hiding-chapters).

### Why can't I move a video?

Moving a video is paused while your account is over its photo storage limit. Free up space or upgrade and moving works again. See [When you're over your storage limit](/docs/plans-and-billing/over-your-storage-limit).

### Does deleting a gallery delete its videos?

Yes. Deleting a gallery permanently deletes its videos along with its photos. See [Deleting a gallery](/docs/galleries/deleting-a-gallery).
