CoreHue glossary

Every tool names things a little differently. If you've come from Pixieset, Pic-Time, HoneyBook or Dubsado, some CoreHue words will look familiar and mean something slightly different. Here they are, A to Z.

A to C

Add-on. An optional paid extra. On a service, clients add them while booking. On a proposal, clients can take or leave them. See Adding add-ons to a service.

Auto expiry. A date you set on a gallery. On that day the gallery goes offline and visitors are asked to contact you for access. See Setting a gallery expiry date.

Booking. One session in your calendar for one contact, with its date, location, title, description, documents and invoices. Bookings live under Bookings → All bookings.

Booking page. Your public page listing every published service, at yourname.corehue.co/services. It has its own on/off switch.

Chapter. A section inside a gallery, like Getting ready or Ceremony. New galleries start with one called Featured. Other tools call these sets, scenes or folders.

Client. A contact who has booked, paid or signed a contract. CoreHue moves a lead to client on its own when that happens.

Client access. A second, private password for your client alone. It can open chapters guests never see and lets your client hide photos from guests. See Giving your client private access.

Collection. A set of photos a visitor stars in your gallery, saved against their email. Clients can make several, like "Album" and "Prints", and send them to you. Many people call these favorites.

Contact. One person or business you work with. Every inquiry, booking, invoice, document, message and linked gallery belongs to a contact.

Contact form. A public form you share on your website or social profiles. Each submission creates a contact and a conversation. See Creating a contact form.

Contract. An agreement your client signs online. It can be sent on its own, included in a proposal, or attached to a service so it's signed while booking.

CoreHue URL. Your web address, yourname.corehue.co, chosen during setup. Every public link starts with it.

Custom domain. Your own address, like photos.yourstudio.com, connected on Plus or Pro.

D to L

Default currency. The currency your prices and invoices use. You set it once and it can't be changed. Pro can invoice in other currencies too.

Direct booking. A service mode where clients pick a time and book themselves, often signing and paying as they go.

Download PIN. A 4-digit code visitors enter before downloading from a gallery. Every new gallery starts with one. See Using a download PIN.

Email registration. A gallery setting that asks visitors for their email before they can view it.

Free, Plus and Pro. CoreHue's plans. Free keeps the basics running with smaller limits, Plus is for most working photographers, and Pro adds more storage, longer and 4K video, RAW uploads, unlimited published services and multi-currency invoicing. See CoreHue plans.

Gallery. The private web page where you deliver a shoot's photos and videos.

Gallery password. One password everyone needs to open a gallery.

Inquiry. A request sent through an inquiry service. Nothing is held or charged. It's a conversation that can turn into a proposal or booking. Inquiries live under Bookings → Inquiries.

Item. A reusable priced line, like "Wedding coverage" or "Extra hour", saved under Templates → Items and used on invoices and proposals.

Lead. A contact who hasn't committed yet.

M to R

Mini session. A service mode with short slots on specific dates you lay out, ideal for seasonal sessions.

Notification. CoreHue telling you something happened, in the bell and by email if you want it. Not to be confused with a reminder.

Payment schedule. An invoice split into up to 12 payments, like a deposit and installments, each with its own due date.

Proposal. One link with your pricing, options, contract and payment. Your client chooses, accepts, signs and pays in one place.

Questionnaire. A set of questions sent to one client, such as a wedding timeline or shot list. Answers land on their contact page.

Reminder. An email CoreHue sends your client to chase an unpaid invoice, an unsigned document or an upcoming session. On Plus and Pro.

Restricted. What happens to your oldest galleries or videos when your account is over its storage or video limit. Clients can't see them until you're back within your plan. See When you're over your storage limit.

S to Z

Selection request. A collection you set up for your client with a name, a brief and an optional photo limit, like Album picks or Retouch list.

Service. Something clients can book or inquire about, set up under Bookings → Services. Each service is an inquiry, direct booking or mini session.

Template. A saved starting point you reuse: items, contracts, questionnaires and emails. Using one makes a copy, so editing the template later never changes something you've sent.

Unlisted. A gallery you've taken offline. The link stops working until you publish it again.

Frequently asked questions

Is a collection the same as favorites?

Yes, more or less. When your client stars photos, they go into a named collection, and clients can keep several. You see them all on the gallery's Activity tab.

What's the difference between a contact form and a questionnaire?

A contact form is public and brings in new people. A questionnaire is sent to someone you're already working with. See Contact form or inquiry service? for a related comparison.

What's the difference between a reminder and a notification?

Reminders go to your clients. Notifications come to you.

Where can I see what each status means?

See Statuses explained.
