# Invoicing in more than one currency

> Bill international clients in their own currency on CoreHue Pro. How your default currency works, picking a currency per invoice, and changing plans.

On Pro, you can create invoices in currencies other than your default. CoreHue keeps each currency's totals separate and does not convert them into your default currency.

> **Available on Pro**
Multi-currency invoicing is included on the Pro plan. Free and Plus invoice in your default currency. See [CoreHue plans](/docs/plans-and-billing/corehue-plans).

## Your default currency

CoreHue asks for it once, in a **Set your default currency** window, the first time you create an invoice or a saved item. It's suggested from your country, and it's used across pricing, documents and reports.

**It can't be changed later.** The window says so, and there's no setting or support request that changes it afterwards. If you live in one country but bill in another's currency, pick the one you bill in.

You can see it under **Settings → Profile**. On Pro it reads "Your default currency is fixed. Invoices can still use other currencies." See [Your profile settings](/docs/account/your-profile).

## Choosing a currency for an invoice

1. Start a new invoice.
2. Use the **Currency** picker at the top right of the form, before you add any lines.
3. Add your items and send as usual.

Once a line has content, the picker locks, because the prices on the invoice are in that currency. If you link a booking, the invoice uses the booking's currency instead. Pro can also set a currency on each booking service.

## What CoreHue doesn't do

**It doesn't convert.** There's no exchange rate anywhere. A euro invoice is in euros, with exactly the prices you typed.

**Saved items don't convert either.** An item holds a plain number. Use it on an invoice in another currency and that number is used as it stands, so check the price.

## Totals stay separate

Your invoices list, payments, contact pages and reports keep each currency separate rather than adding them together. Where a figure could cover more than one currency, you pick which one to view.

## Taking card payments in other currencies

Card payments have to be in a currency your Stripe account supports. If it doesn't support the invoice's currency, Stripe isn't offered on that invoice, and you'll want a [manual payment method](/docs/payments/manual-payment-methods) like a bank transfer instead. Check this before you quote a client abroad.

Manual methods have no currency restriction. They're your own instructions, so whatever your bank accepts works.

## If you move from Pro to Plus or Free

New invoices, proposals and services go back to your default currency. Anything already in another currency keeps it, and stays viewable and payable. When you open one, you'll see a note like "You can keep this invoice in EUR". See [Moving to a smaller plan](/docs/plans-and-billing/moving-to-a-smaller-plan).

## What your client sees

Their invoice, emails and payment page all show the invoice's currency. Nothing mentions your default currency or any conversion.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I change my default currency?

No. Your CoreHue default currency is fixed once set, which keeps your reports and records consistent. The Pro plan lets you invoice in other currencies while your default currency stays the same.

### Do I need Pro to invoice in my own currency?

No. Every CoreHue plan, including Free, invoices in your default currency. Pro is only needed for invoices in other currencies.

### Will CoreHue show the amount in my currency too?

No. CoreHue doesn't convert between currencies or show exchange rates. Your Stripe dashboard shows what you received after any conversion Stripe made.
