Add optional extras to a booking service, such as extra coverage, travel or rush editing. Your client chooses the extras they want during booking, and the total updates to include them.

## Which services have add-ons

Add-ons work on **direct booking** and **mini session** services. You'll find the **Add-ons** section on the **Price & duration** tab, or **Price & slot** on mini sessions.

**Inquiry services don't have add-ons**, because nothing is priced at the inquiry stage. Put extras in the [proposal](/docs/proposals/offering-choices) you send afterwards instead.

## Adding one

1. Open the service and go to **Price & duration** (or **Price & slot**).
2. Under **Add-ons**, choose **Add add-on**.
3. Fill in the **Add-on name** and **Price per unit**.
4. Add a **Description (optional)** if the name needs explaining.
5. Turn on **Let clients choose quantity** if they can take more than one, and set **Maximum per booking (optional)** if you want a cap.
6. Choose **Save**.

The **Tax** field appears on each add-on once **Collect payment** is on for the service, so an add-on can carry a different rate from the session.

You can have up to 30 add-ons on one service. Drag the handle to reorder them, or use **Move up** and **Move down** in the **⋯** menu. Clients see them in the same order. **Remove** deletes one.

## Quantity or yes/no

With **Let clients choose quantity** off, the client takes one or none. That suits things like rush editing or a second shooter.

Turn it on for anything sold in units, like extra edited images or prints. **Maximum per booking (optional)** caps how many one client can take. Leave it blank for no limit.

## What your client sees

Add-ons appear on the first step of booking, under the heading **Add-ons**, right below the times. There's no separate screen later.

Each add-on shows its name, unit price, a minus and plus counter and the running total for that line. Everything starts at zero. A description shows behind a small information icon beside the name.

The total updates as they go, and the booking summary lists what they picked. Several add-ons collapse into one row, like **Add-ons (3)**, which opens to show each one. When the service collects payment, add-ons go on the booking's invoice with the session.

## Choosing add-ons that sell

- **Keep it short.** Three or four strong extras beat a list of fifteen, which only slows your client down.
- **Describe the result.** "Forty extra edited photos in your gallery" says more than "extended post-production".
- **Price for value.** An add-on should feel like a good deal at the moment of booking, not a fee.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I add add-ons to an inquiry service?

No. Inquiry services don't price anything at the inquiry stage. Offer extras as optional items in your proposal.

### Are add-ons included in the deposit?

The deposit is worked out from the booking total, and add-ons are part of that total. A percentage deposit grows with the add-ons your client picks.

### Can I reuse the same add-on on several services?

Add-ons belong to each service, so add them to every service that needs them. For reusable line items in proposals and invoices, use [saved items](/docs/payments/saved-items).

### Can clients remove an add-on later?

Not from their booking page. If they change their mind, adjust the booking's invoice yourself.
