CoreHue sends booking confirmations and can send reminders before a session. Set your default messages under **Bookings → Settings → Emails**, or use a different confirmation message on a service.

> **Limited on the Free plan**
Confirmations, inquiry auto-replies and other booking emails go out on every plan. Automatic booking reminders need Plus or Pro. See [CoreHue plans](/docs/plans-and-billing/corehue-plans).

## Your confirmation and auto-reply

**Bookings → Settings → Emails** holds two emails, both on by default, each with a **Message** you write:

- **Booking confirmation**, "Send an email when a booking is confirmed."
- **Inquiry auto-reply**, "Send an automatic reply when a new inquiry is received."

Use **Variables** in the toolbar to add details like your client's first name. See [Filling in client details automatically](/docs/getting-started/smart-fields).

These are your defaults. Any service can use its own words instead, in the **Confirmation** step of its booking flow (step 6 on direct booking and mini sessions, step 3 on inquiries). Leave the service's message blank and the default here is used.

> **This switch is for your clients, not you**
Turning off **Booking confirmation** stops your clients getting their confirmation email. To quieten your own inbox, use [notification emails](/docs/account/notification-emails) instead.

## What your clients receive

| Email | When it goes out | Subject |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Inquiry auto-reply | The moment someone sends an inquiry | "Thank you for your inquiry, [first name]" |
| Booking received | A booking is made but still waiting on something | "Waiting for payment", "Waiting for requirements" or "Your booking is being reviewed" |
| Booking confirmation | The booking is confirmed | "Your booking is confirmed" |
| Booking reminders | Before a confirmed booking, if you turn them on | "Reminder: [service] on [date]", "Reminder: [service] is tomorrow" or "Today: [service]" |
| Reschedule notice | You move the booking and choose to notify | "Your booking was rescheduled" |
| Cancellation notice | You cancel and choose to notify | "Your booking has been cancelled" |
| Late payment | Money arrives after a booking has expired | "We received your payment" |

**The auto-reply is the one to get right.** The wait between inquiring and hearing back is when people book someone else. Say when you'll reply and what happens next. If you switch the auto-reply off, clients still get a plain receipt so they know it arrived. They just don't get your words.

**The confirmation** includes the date, time and location, a way to add it to their calendar, and a **View booking** button. Your confirmation message is the body.

**The booking received email** has a **Complete your booking** button that takes your client back to finish whatever's outstanding.

## Booking reminders

Booking reminders are set up once under **Settings → Reminders**, not per service, so they apply to all your bookings.

1. Go to **Settings → Reminders**.
2. Turn on **Booking reminders**, "Send automatic reminders before a confirmed booking."
3. Tick any of **7 days before**, **3 days before**, **1 day before** and **Day of booking**.

Reminders only go to confirmed bookings and stop once a booking is completed or cancelled. For virtual sessions they include a **Join meeting** link. See [Setting up automatic reminders](/docs/account/automatic-reminders).

On Free, the Reminders tab is hidden and nothing sends. Your settings are kept, so they start working again when you upgrade.

## What you receive

Your own emails live under **Settings → Notifications**. The **Bookings** section includes:

- **New inquiry**, "A client sends an inquiry from a booking page."
- **Booking confirmed**, "A client confirms a booking."
- **Services unpublished on Plus** and **Services unpublished on Free**, when a plan change takes services off your page

The **Payments** section holds **Booking payment proof**, sent when a client uploads proof of a manual payment, and **Payment received after booking expiry**.

All are on by default. **Notification emails** at the top of that page turns them all off if you'd rather work from your Home screen. See [Choosing which notifications you get](/docs/account/notification-emails).

## Writing emails clients read

- **Answer the next question.** For an auto-reply, it's "when will I hear back?". For a confirmation, it's "where do I go and what do I bring?".
- **Keep it short.** These get read on a phone, usually on the move.

## Frequently asked questions

### How do I check whether a client got their confirmation?

Open the booking and choose **Email history** from its **⋯** menu. It shows what was sent and whether it was delivered. Inquiries have the same option.

### Can each service have its own confirmation message?

Yes. Write it in the **Confirmation** step of the service's booking flow. Leave it blank to use your default from **Bookings → Settings → Emails**.

### Do booking emails show CoreHue branding?

On Free, client emails show "Powered by CoreHue". On Plus and Pro you can turn that off. See [Removing CoreHue branding](/docs/account/removing-corehue-branding).

### Why didn't my client get a reminder?

Reminders need Plus or Pro, **Booking reminders** must be on, and they only go to confirmed bookings. A booking still pending payment won't get one.
