# In-person and online sessions

> Set where each CoreHue booking service happens: your studio, the client's address, a client's choice, or online with Google Meet, Zoom or your own meeting link.

Set where a service takes place: at your location, at the client's location or online. The choice determines which location details or meeting link your client sees.

## Choosing a location type

On a direct booking service, open **Availability & location** and pick a **Location type**. On an inquiry service it's on the **Details** tab. Each mode offers the options that make sense for it.

| Location type | What it means | Direct booking | Inquiry |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| **Fixed location** | Held at one place you set | Yes | Yes |
| **Client's location** | The client gives their address | Yes, while booking | Yes |
| **Client chooses the location** | Your place or theirs, the client picks | | Yes |
| **Virtual** | Meet online | Yes | Yes |
| **In person or virtual** | The client picks in person or online | Yes | |
| **Decide later** | Set it after reviewing the inquiry | | Yes |

New direct booking services start on **Fixed location**. Inquiry services start on **Client's location**.

## Your studio or a set venue

**Fixed location**, **Client chooses the location** and **In person or virtual** all ask for a **Location name** and **Address**. Both appear on the booking and in confirmation emails.

Put anything else useful in the service description: parking, the buzzer code, which entrance to use. It saves a message on the day.

## The client's address

**Client's location** asks your client for an address as part of booking, and it travels with the booking. Use it for newborn sessions at home, real estate, or anything on location.

**Client chooses the location** suits inquiry services when you shoot both in studio and on location. Your client picks between your venue and "At my location", so you don't need two near-identical services.

## Online sessions

On a direct booking set to **Virtual** or **In person or virtual**, a **Virtual setup** section appears with four choices:

| Option | What happens |
| --- | --- |
| **Google Meet** | "Create a Google Meet link automatically." Needs Google Calendar connected. |
| **Zoom** | "Create a Zoom link automatically." Needs Zoom connected. |
| **Custom link** | "Use your own meeting link." Add it under **Meeting link**. |
| **Add details later** | "Share the details after booking." |

Google Meet and Zoom are greyed out until you connect them under **Bookings → Settings → Integrations**, reading "Connect Google Calendar first." or "Connect Zoom first." If a service already set to Google Meet or Zoom loses its connection, a notice appears on the service, like "Connect Zoom to create meeting links." See [Connecting Google Calendar](/docs/online-booking/google-calendar) and [Adding Zoom meetings to bookings](/docs/online-booking/zoom).

> **A fresh link per booking**
Google Meet and Zoom create a new meeting for every booking. A **Custom link** is the same room for everyone, so a call that runs over can have the next client walking in on it.

**In person or virtual** asks your client "How should the service be held?" with **In person** or **Online**.

Inquiry services can be marked **Virtual** but don't create meeting links, since nothing is booked yet. Agree the details in your conversation.

## Mini sessions

Mini session services don't have a **Location type**. The **Location** section sets a default, and each date under **Schedule** has its own **Location name** and **Address**. That's how one service covers a park one weekend and a studio the next. See [Running mini sessions](/docs/online-booking/mini-sessions).

## What your client sees

The location shows on the service before they book, in their confirmation email and on their booking page.

For an online session, the join link sits on their booking page where the address would be, reading **Join Google Meet**, **Join Zoom** or similar. It appears once the booking is confirmed. On Plus and Pro, booking reminder emails include a **Join meeting** link too, so it's easy to find on the day. The confirmation email links to their booking page rather than carrying the meeting link itself.

## Frequently asked questions

### Why isn't the meeting link in the confirmation email?

The meeting is created as the booking confirms, so it may not exist yet when that email goes out. The meeting link is on your client's booking page, and in [booking reminders](/docs/online-booking/booking-emails) if you send them on Plus or Pro.

### Can clients choose between studio and online?

Yes. On a direct booking, set **Location type** to **In person or virtual**. Clients pick **In person** or **Online** while booking.

### Can I use my own Zoom personal room link?

Yes. Choose **Custom link** under **Virtual setup** and paste it into **Meeting link**. Bear in mind every client gets the same room.

### Can mini sessions be online?

No. Mini sessions are held at the location set on each date.
