Open a payment to see its amount, receipt and refund history. For card payments, the page also shows Stripe's fee and the net amount received.

## Opening a payment

Open **Payments → Payments** and select any row. You can also get there from an invoice: under **Payments received**, open the payment's ⋯ menu and choose **View payment**.

The page title is the receipt number, and the receipt itself fills the page.

## The payment breakdown

Card payments through Stripe show a **Payment breakdown** above the receipt:

| Line | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| **Amount received** | What your client paid |
| **Stripe processing fee** | Stripe's fee for that payment |
| **Net to you** | What you keep after fees |

CoreHue doesn't charge a platform fee on your client payments. You only pay Stripe's processing fees. That's why you'll normally see just the Stripe line.

If Stripe charged its fee in a different currency from the payment, the last line reads **Net before Stripe fee**, because the two amounts can't be subtracted directly. Your Stripe dashboard has the converted figure.

Manual payments, like bank transfers and cash, carry no fees, so they don't show a breakdown at all.

On the invoice itself, a card payment's ⋯ menu has **View fees**, which opens the same breakdown inline. **Hide fees** closes it again.

## Why Stripe's fee varies

Stripe sets its own rates, which depend on your country, the card and the currency. Open **Fees** on the Stripe card under **Payments → Settings → Payment methods** for a link to Stripe's pricing. See [Accepting card payments with Stripe](/docs/payments/accepting-card-payments).

## Actions on a payment

The header carries what you can do with the payment:

- **Send receipt** emails the receipt PDF to your client. See [Payment receipts](/docs/payments/receipts).
- **Download PDF** saves the receipt for your records.
- **Email history**, in the ⋯ menu, shows the emails sent for this payment, such as receipts.
- **Refund payment** for a card payment, or **Record refund** for one you recorded yourself. See [Refunding a payment](/docs/payments/refunding-a-payment).
- **Remove payment**, for a payment you recorded by mistake. Card payments can't be removed.

Once a payment is fully refunded, the page keeps only **Download PDF** and **Email history**.

## Refunds on a payment

Any refund appears in a **Refunds** section with its amount, date and note. A refund still being processed shows **Processing** until Stripe confirms it. The payment's status reads **Received**, **Partially refunded**, **Refunded** or **Refund processing**.

## Where fees show in your reports

The [finance report](/docs/payments/finance-report) lists each Stripe fee as its own **Stripe Fee** entry rather than hiding it inside the payment. Its **Earnings** figure already has fees and refunds taken off, so it's the honest number for a period.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does CoreHue take a fee from card payments?

No. CoreHue doesn't charge a platform fee on your client payments. You only pay Stripe's processing fees, shown as **Stripe processing fee** on each card payment.

### Why don't I see a payment breakdown?

The **Payment breakdown** only shows on card payments through Stripe. Payments you recorded yourself or confirmed from a client's proof have no fees, so there's nothing to break down.

### Do I get the Stripe fee back if I refund a payment?

No. Stripe keeps the processing fee on the original card payment, so a full refund leaves you short by the Stripe fee.

### Where do I see the total fees I've paid this year?

Your Stripe fees are in the [finance report](/docs/payments/finance-report) under **Reports → Finance**. Set the **Period** to This year and look at the **Stripe Fee** entries.
