**Projects → All projects** opens on a board with one column per stage and a card for each active project. It's the quickest way to see what's booked, what's being edited and what's waiting on an album.

## Reading a card

Each card shows the project name, the primary contact and, when there is one, the project type. A calendar date on the right is the project's next booking, the soonest upcoming date across its bookings, leaving out anything cancelled.

The number beside each stage name is how many projects sit in it.

## Moving a project to another stage

Drag the card into another column. Or, if dragging is fiddly:

1. Choose **More actions** (three dots) on the card.
2. Pick the stage you want.

The menu lists your stages in order, with a tick beside the one the project is in and **Next** beside the one after it, so moving a job on is one tap. **Archive** sits at the bottom. On a touch screen the card's menu is always showing, which is easier than dragging.

On the list, the stage on each row opens the same picker. You can also change the stage from the top of the project page.

Every move shows a note with **Undo**, in case you dropped a card in the wrong column. Moving a project changes nothing else. Your client isn't emailed, bookings and invoices stay as they are, and you can move it back whenever you like.

## Finding a project

Search with the field beside the page title. It looks at project names, not client names, which is one more reason to name projects after the client.

To narrow things down:

1. Choose the **Filter** button (the funnel).
2. Pick a **Project type**, and on the list also a **Stage**.

Each filter shows as a chip above the board. Remove one with its **×**, or choose **Clear** to remove them all.

## Switching to a list

1. Choose the display button (the sliders icon) beside **Filter**.
2. Choose **List**.

The list shows each project's name, contact, stage, project type and next booking, newest first, 30 to a page. Choose a row's stage to move it to another one. Choose **Board** or **Reset** in the same menu to go back.

A busy column shows its 30 newest projects. When there are more, **View all** at the bottom opens the list filtered to that stage.

## Archived projects

Finished projects leave the board when you archive them. Choose the **Archived** tab to see them as a list, where search and filters work the same way. See [Archiving, restoring or deleting a project](/docs/projects/archiving-and-deleting-a-project).

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I put the cards in my own order within a column?

No. Each column lists the most recently changed project first, and moving a project counts as a change, so it lands at the top of its new stage. Use the list with a **Stage** filter, or search, when you're looking for one job in a long column.

### Why does a project say Contact deleted?

Its primary contact was deleted from your contacts. The project was archived at the same time and keeps all its records. See [Archiving, restoring or deleting a project](/docs/projects/archiving-and-deleting-a-project).

### Can I search projects by my client's name?

Not on this page. Search looks at project names only. To find a client's projects from their side, open one of their bookings or documents, where the project's name shows near the top.

### How do I add a column?

Add a stage. Each stage is a column, in the order you set. See [Setting up stages and project types](/docs/projects/stages-and-project-types).
