Sending a proposal

Once your proposal reads well, send it by email from CoreHue or share the link wherever your client actually replies to you. Either way, they open it on a page with nothing to sign in to.

Available on Plus and Pro

Sending and sharing proposals is included on Plus and Pro. On Free you can build and save drafts. See CoreHue plans.

Before it can go

Send proposal stays greyed out until the proposal is complete, and a Not ready to send banner lists what's missing. The usual ones:

  • No included item or client choice yet.
  • A client choice with fewer than two options, or two choices with the same name.
  • Create a booking is on but there's no service date.
  • Payment is on but nothing is priced, or the schedule doesn't say when the balance is due.
  • The attached contract is empty, or uses a detail CoreHue can't fill in.
  • The contract is set to use your saved signature and you haven't saved one.
  • The expiry date is already in the past.

Fix those in the editor and the button comes alive.

Sending by email

  1. On the proposal, choose Send proposal.
  2. Check the recipient. Your client is filled in from the contact or inquiry.
  3. Edit the Subject and Message, or choose Use template to drop in an email template. Variables in the toolbar adds your client's first name for you.
  4. Set or change the Expiry date if you need to.
  5. Tick Send a copy to me if you want one in your inbox, then send.

The preview on the right shows exactly what your client will receive. On a narrow screen, switch between Editor and Preview. Sending moves the proposal from Draft to Sent.

Choose Share with link in the composer, or Copy link on a sent proposal, and send it however you like: WhatsApp, Instagram DMs, a text. Sharing a draft's link marks it as sent, and CoreHue asks you to confirm first.

What your client gets

An email with your message and a button to open the proposal. The proposal opens on your branded client page, with no sign-in and nothing to install. See What your client sees in a proposal.

Writing the covering note

Keep it short and point at the thing:

Hi Kate, here's everything we talked about, with the two coverage options. You can accept, sign and pay the retainer right from the page. Any questions, just reply to this email.

Two things are worth saying every time: that they can do it all from the page, and that they can reply to you. The first stops them waiting for a separate contract. The second stops the silence.

Resending

If your client lost the email, choose Resend proposal on the proposal. Check Email history in the ⋯ menu first. If the last email bounced, sending to the same address will fail again. See My client didn't get my email.

Proposals you sent while on a paid plan can still be resent or shared on Free.

Following up

Proposals often go quiet because they've been forgotten, not because they've been turned down. On Plus and Pro, CoreHue can remind your client about an unanswered proposal for you. See Reminding clients about unanswered documents.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the Send proposal button greyed out?

Send proposal is greyed out when something required is missing from the proposal. The Not ready to send banner at the top of the proposal lists exactly what, like a missing service date or a choice group with only one option.

Can I send a proposal on the Free plan?

No. On the Free plan you can create and save proposal drafts, and choosing Send proposal opens an upgrade prompt. Sending and sharing need Plus or Pro.

Can I send a proposal by WhatsApp or text?

Yes. Use Share with link in the composer or Copy link on a sent proposal, and paste the proposal link wherever you talk to your client. Sending and sharing need Plus or Pro.

Does the expiry date start counting when I send?

No. A proposal's expiry is a fixed date, not a countdown from sending. It runs to the end of that day in your business time zone.
