Switching from Calendly to CoreHue
Use CoreHue booking services to offer available times, collect client details and require a contract or payment when needed. This guide maps common Calendly booking setups to CoreHue's service modes.
If Calendly is the only tool you're replacing, this is the smallest switch on the list. Most settings line up almost one to one.
What it's called in CoreHue
| In Calendly | In CoreHue | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Event type | Service | Also carries a price, deposit, contract and questions. Each is an inquiry, direct booking or mini session. |
| Scheduling link | Booking page | One page at yourname.corehue.co/services, plus a link for each service. |
| Availability schedule | Weekly availability | Shared by every service, unless a service has its own schedule. |
| Date-specific hours | Availability for specific dates | Block a whole day, block certain hours, or open extra hours. |
| Buffer time | Booking gap | No gap, 15, 30, 45 minutes or 1 hour. |
| Minimum scheduling notice | Minimum notice | How soon before a session someone can book. |
| Date range | Booking window | How far ahead people can book. |
| Duration | Duration | 15 minutes to 2 hours for direct booking, 10 to 60 minutes for mini session slots, plus longer and multi-day sessions. |
| Group event | Mini session | Short slots on set dates, with Spots per slot. |
| Invitee | Contact | A real client record with their history, not just a calendar invite. |
| Invitee questions | Booking questions and questionnaires | Ask for details while they book. |
| Payments | Deposit or full payment at booking | By card through Stripe or by your own methods, like bank transfer, with the time held until payment arrives. |
| Reminder emails | Booking emails and reminders | Confirmations on every plan, reminders on Plus and Pro. |
| Calendar connection | Google Calendar | Adds bookings to your calendar and blocks your busy times. Google only. |
| Video meeting location | Google Meet or Zoom | Or an address for in-person sessions. |
| Team and round robin | Nothing | One person per account. |
What moves over, and how
There's nothing to export. Calendly holds your event types and hours, and you'll recreate both in an afternoon.
Event types. Jot down each one's name, duration, buffer and price, then create a service for each. A service isn't live until you publish it, and your plan sets how many can be published at once (1 on Free, 5 on Plus, unlimited on Pro). See How many services can I publish?
Your hours. Enter them once under Bookings → Settings → Availability.
Upcoming bookings. Leave them in Calendly and let them run out. Point new traffic at your CoreHue link.
People. Contacts create themselves the first time someone books.
What CoreHue does differently
A price and a deposit on every booking. Clients can pay a deposit or the full amount as they book. The time is held while they pay, then confirmed. See Unpaid bookings and held times.
A contract signed at the point of booking. Add your contract to the service and clients sign before the booking confirms.
Everything after the booking. Invoices, questionnaires, client messages and, after the shoot, a gallery for the same client.
What you'd give up
Team scheduling, round robin, and calendar connections other than Google. See What CoreHue doesn't do (yet).
Your first week
Day 1. Create your account, add your business details and set your default currency if you'll take payment.
Day 2. Connect Stripe and Google Calendar, and set your availability.
Day 3. Recreate your busiest event type as a direct booking service with its real price and duration. Read Unpaid bookings and held times before switching on payment, because it's the part that surprises people.
Day 4. Publish it, turn on your booking page, and book yourself end to end. See What your client sees when they book.
Day 5. Swap your Calendly link for your CoreHue booking page everywhere it appears: website, email signature, Instagram bio. See Sharing your booking page.
Then. Recreate the rest of your event types as you need them, and turn Calendly off once nothing new lands there.
Frequently asked questions
Is CoreHue a good Calendly alternative for photographers?
Yes, if you want bookings that come with a price, a deposit and a signed contract, plus somewhere to deliver the photos afterwards. If you need team scheduling or round robin, CoreHue doesn't offer those.
Can clients pay when they book?
Yes. In CoreHue, switch on Collect payment for the service and choose how clients can pay: by card through Stripe, or a manual method like bank transfer. Clients pay a deposit or the full amount as they book.
Does CoreHue connect to Outlook or iCloud calendars?
No. CoreHue connects to Google Calendar only today.
Can clients reschedule themselves?
Not at the moment. In CoreHue, clients get in touch and you move the booking yourself. See Rescheduling a booking.
