Switching from Google Forms to CoreHue

Use contact forms for new inquiries and questionnaires for clients already in CoreHue. Submissions are saved with a contact rather than in a separate response spreadsheet. This guide explains how to recreate forms you use in Google Forms.

CoreHue splits one Google Form into two kinds of form, and picking the right one is most of the switch.

  • Contact forms are public. Anyone with the link can fill one in, and each submission creates a contact and starts a conversation. That's your inquiry form.
  • Questionnaires are sent to someone you already work with. That's your wedding timeline, shot list or session prep form.

What moves over, and how

Nothing exports from Google Forms into CoreHue, so you'll rebuild your forms. It's quicker than it sounds, because the builders work the same way.

Decide the type first. Public inquiry capture becomes a contact form. Anything for a client you already have becomes a questionnaire.

Rebuild side by side. Open each Google Form next to the CoreHue builder and recreate it question by question. See Building your contact form and Building a questionnaire.

Simplify branching. Google Forms jumps people to a different section. CoreHue shows or hides individual questions based on an earlier answer, which covers most forms. A form with several long alternative paths may need tidying into one.

Save it as a template. Save each rebuilt questionnaire as a questionnaire template so the next client gets the same questions in a couple of clicks.

Keep your old responses. Download the Google Sheet and keep it as your archive. Past answers don't move.

What CoreHue does differently

Answers on the right client. No more matching spreadsheet rows to email threads. Open a contact and their questionnaire answers are right there.

Forms that send themselves. Attach a questionnaire to a booking service and it goes out on its own, after the booking confirms or a set number of days before or after the session. See Sending a questionnaire automatically after booking.

Reminders for unanswered forms. On Plus and Pro, CoreHue nudges clients who haven't finished. See Reminding clients about unanswered documents.

A conversation with every inquiry. A contact form submission opens a thread in Messages, so you can reply straight away.

What you'd give up

The spreadsheet. There's no export of questionnaire answers, so if sorting responses in a sheet is central to how you work, keep that in mind. Quiz scoring and grid questions aren't available either.

Your first week

Day 1. Create your account and add your logo and business name. Your public form carries them.

Day 2. Rebuild your inquiry form as a contact form, publish it, fill it in yourself, and watch the contact and conversation appear. See Sharing your contact form.

Day 3. Rebuild your main client form as a questionnaire, add show and hide rules where you had branching, and save it as a template.

Day 4. Send it to yourself and answer it on your phone, so you've seen your client's side.

Day 5. Attach the questionnaire to a booking service so it sends itself, and turn on automatic reminders.

Then. Replace your Google Form links on your website and Instagram bio with your CoreHue contact form.

Frequently asked questions

Is CoreHue a good Google Forms alternative for photographers?

Yes, if you want answers attached to each client and forms that send and chase themselves. CoreHue has contact forms for new inquiries and questionnaires for booked clients. If you need a spreadsheet of every response, Google Forms still does that better.

Should I use a contact form or an inquiry service?

Use a contact form for general questions from your website. Use an inquiry service when people are asking about a specific service on your booking page. See Contact form or inquiry service?

Can clients upload files?

Yes, in CoreHue questionnaires, up to 10 MB a file. Contact forms don't take uploads.

Are contact forms included on the Free plan?

Yes, contact forms are on every CoreHue plan. On Free you can read the conversations a form starts, and upgrading lets you reply from CoreHue.
